Language apps for improving language skills
Nowadays, smartphones are condemned as the swindlers of our era, primarily because of social media. The waste of time and neglect caused by Facebook, Twitter and co. naturally make these accusations understandable. However, it is still too premature to view the smartphone or the internet as entirely disadvantageous. Above all, the many useful language apps have shown us what a relief the smartphone can be for everyone.
Fortunately, this relief is also experienced by people who are learning a foreign language. As SLA Basel do we think it is right that language learners do not just content themselves with foreign language classes and deepen their language skills by means of various language apps. Practice makes perfect and today there are very good exercises that help better with apps.
On the other hand, such apps are particularly well-suited for language learners who find it difficult in social life to get in touch with native speakers of the foreign language they are learning. The best advantage is that language-learning apps can be used at any time. Furthermore, there are numerous apps for learning languages that do not cost anything.
In doing so, it is important for the language learner to determine which language apps suit them. To find this out, one must of course know one's weaknesses. You will certainly find the right apps that stay at your level and improve your vocabulary, grammar or conversational skills.
Language apps are fun and motivate learners
Language apps can also be incredibly encouraging. Some apps bring users together with other users and even let them compete, so that learning can become a passion.
Since many of these apps are rather entertaining, they are therefore by no means a waste of time. However, anyone who installs these apps should delete other apps that were previously an absolute waste of time. It is well known nowadays that many people spend too much time on Twitter or Instagram and miss out on many opportunities that could be achieved with other useful apps.
