Super-intensive courses, intensive courses and semi-intensive courses: What is the difference?
You want to take a language course and don't know whether you need to take a super-intensive, intensive or semi-intensive course? One thing must be made clear first: when comparing these intensive courses, we cannot see any disadvantages. In SLA Basel we offer super-intensive courses, intensive courses and semi-intensive courses, which are supervised and led by competent language teachers using state-of-the-art methods.
Why are there language courses with different intensities then? These are language courses where we cater to the different availability of the course participants. For example, some course participants are able to spend several hours a day at our language school in Basel and then also have the time at home to do learning tasks.
For example, we offer German Super-Intensive Courses, English Super-Intensive Coursesand French super-intensive courses for people who can maintain such high performance for 6 to 9 weeks from 9:00 to 12:15 and are also willing to study at home.
Super-intensive courses for various language levels
Anyone who wants to take a German or English course at language level A1, A2 or B1 and feels ready for a 6-week super-intensive course will find super-intensive courses with 2 to 6 participants available with us. For those who want to take a super-intensive course for language level B2 or C1, there is an effective language course lasting 10 weeks.
Conversely, the intensive courses are aimed at people who can attend a daily language course lasting 1.5 hours. To this end, we offer intensive courses in German, English and French both in the morning and in the afternoon. The language course lasts 6 weeks for language levels A1.1, A1.2, A2.1, A2.2, B1.1 and B1.2, and 9 weeks for language levels B2.1, B2.2, C1.1 and C1.2. These language courses can also be run with 2 to 6 participants.
Longer semi-intensive courses on three days a week
Those who are not able to attend a language course daily can use a German Semi-Intensive Course, Semi-Intensive English Course and Semi-intensive French course fulfil his wish. These courses take place three days a week in the morning or afternoon and last 1.5 hours. However, they run for a longer period as a result. For language levels A1.1, A1.2, A2.1, A2.2, B1.1 and B1.2 they last 9 months and for language levels B2.1, B2.2, C1.1 and C1.2 12 months.
Evening classes for employees in small groups
For busy people who don't have time during the day to learn languages and aren't able to manage such an effort, we offer German evening class, Evening English course and French evening class on two evenings a week, and these courses last longer than the super-intensive, intensive and semi-intensive courses in Basel.
